Long stay visa (visa D)

Holders of a long stay visa are only allowed to stay in France (unique destination). Whatever the reason of the visa issuance (studies, marriage and settle in France, employees of French companies for example), holders of such a visa have to go to the local Préfecture, within 2 months from the date of their entry in France, to get a resident permit.
