For the attention of travelers
A visa does not secure access to the Schengen area. The final authorization
to enter a Schengen territory is given by the immigration officer
at the border gate.
In addition to a valid passport and visa, excepted Nationals of
countries who do no require a visa, each foreign traveler must be
able to show the immigration officer the following documents:
Regarding his stay in France:
For tourism purpose: hotels reservations, official documents
established by a travel agency
For professional purpose: letter of assignment signed by
his employer, a letter of invitation by a French company or organization
For a private visit: a lodging certificate issued by a French
town hall or hotel reservations covering the whole stay in France
Regarding his financial resources:
Cash money, Travel checks, a valid international credit card
Proof of international travel insurance
International travel insurance covering hospitalization and
medical repatriation up to 30 000 euros
Guarantee of return
A flight ticket.
Please Note: a Schengen visa does not allow its holder to
enter a French Overseas Department or Region, a French Overseas
Territory nor a French Overseas Territorial Community unless this
Department, Region, Territory or Territorial Community is mentioned
on the visa.
