VISA APPLICATION
IN REPRESENTATION OF SOME AFRICAN STATES
I)
General regulation
On the legal basis of bilateral agreements, heads of French
diplomatic mission and consular posts are authorized to deliver exclusively short
stay visas as representatives of some African States which are listed below, on
their request, if they are not represented in the applicant’s living country:

Burkina Faso (ex Haute Volta)
-
Central
African Republic
-
Ivory
Coast
-
Republic of Djibouti
-
Gabon
-
Mauritania
Nota: the
maximum length of the authorized short stay visa is 90 days. The French representation
cannot issue short stay professional visa.
II)
Specificities for
China
Under current regulation in issuing short stay and long stay visas, particularly regarding the countries which are mentioned in paragraph
I, the French diplomatic mission and consular posts established in
China
are neither authorized to represent these African States nor authorized to deliver
short stay visas for the following reasons:
1)
French representation
is not authorized in
China
for:
v
Burkina Faso (ex Haute Volta)
v
Ivory
Coast
v
Republic of Djibouti
Nota: Chinese
citizens or foreigners who wish to travel to one of these 3 countries must imperatively
submit their visa application at the nearest diplomatic mission or consular representation
of the concerned country
2)
The following countries
have a Diplomatic representation in
Beijing
:
v
Central African
Republic
v
Gabon
v
Mauritania
Nota: Chinese
citizens and foreigners living in the consular district of Shanghai and who wish
to travel to one of these 3 countries must imperatively submit their visa application
at the Diplomatic mission of these countries in
Beijing
.
